Register now for the 12th annual Provincial Pasture Tour. This event is expected to draw over 90 producers and focuses on practical applications that will make your pasture profitable!

Tour stops include:

  • Darren Dalrymple Bale Grazing – learn how bale grazing can reduce winter feeding costs, improve soil fertility and pasture yields;
  • Lake Manitoba Flood Fields – discuss options to rejuvenate and recover from the effects of flooding;
  • EUR Ranch Sod Seeding and Water Pipeline – understand the benefits and issues surrounding buried pipelines for cattle watering and observe the results of sod-seeding flood damaged land;
  • Lunch at MTT Restaurant in St Laurent, MB – provided by business sponsors;
  • Lyle Thorgilsson-Winter Triticale Field – hear about using winter triticale for high volume greenfeed;
  • Timothy & Tall Fescue Forage Seed and Livestock Feed Fields – observe the benefits of this palatable straw/hay source for winter rations;
  • Alfalfa Phosphorus Ramp Demonstration – see this site which is part of a larger group of sites that help quantify how much phosphorus is economically ideal;
  • PESAI (Prairies East Sustainable Agriculture Initiative) Research Facility – get a complete tour of the facility including their forage and crop plots.

Finish the day with a fantastic meal at PESAI featuring Interlake flavour favourites catered by Broad Valley Catering!

Tour transportation from central collection points throughout the province are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. GPS coordinates and times are provided for each stop for those using their own vehicle.
