Learn how carbon affects us all and what do to help solve the problem and profit from it.

This one day workshop will be facilitated by Blain Hjertaas, a farmer from Redvers, Sask. Blain has been increasing carbon storage on his farm for past 15 years. Simple, easy to understand terms will be used along with ways to increase carbon sequestration on your farm.

Carbon Cycle

Outline:

  1. Carbon in the environment, where it is stored, how does it cycle
  2. What is its role in climate change?
  3. What has changed to increase CO2 levels ( coal, oil, tillage, animals)
  4. How can we change it?
  5. What is carbon’s role in agriculture (yield increase, nutrient density, water holding, $)
  6. Some success stories
  7. How do we change society?

Registration is $25 with lunch provided.
