· Sod seeding legumes into existing pasture to improve soil fertility and forage production
· Livestock water system using pasture pipeline
· Tour forage trials at Brandon Research Center. 3 trials funded by the national Beef Cattle Research Council were seeded in 2014 and 2015. They are to test the performance of new legumes, mixes of native grasses and native legumes, and a new variety of sanfoin in Southwest Manitoba conditions. In the course of conducting these trials, we are also learning about excluding sensitive areas from deer, deciding if and how to manage pest rodents, and most importantly, the consequences of not properly managing weeds and volunteer crops before seeding.
