Grow more grass and extend the grazing season
Pasture Management Concepts – over grazing and recovery period
Stock density – benefits of increased stock density
Importance of keeping land covered – value of litter on pasture
Diversity – the power of species diversity
Gross profits on cows – know your cost of production
Anything between a cows mouth and the grass costs money – Keep them together as long as possible
Bale grazing and swath grazing

Instructor:  Blain Hjertaas is a Certified Holistic Management Educator and cow/calf producer from Redvers, SK. Blain uses the holistic model to help guide his decision making. He focuses on three priorities when making decisions on his farm: the health and happiness of the farm family, environmental health of his land and animals, and profit (trying to be a low cost producer).
