Our Moss Farm Day is part of HMI’s Open Gate Learning Series. Open Gates are peer-to-peer action-based learning days with short presentations and small group exercises geared for participants to share discoveries and management techniques with guidance from experienced facilitators and producers.

Whether you are an agricultural producer, land steward, local agency representative, or simply interested in visiting a local farm, this is a day for you.

What to Expect

At the Open Gate: Moss Farm Day, you will…

  • Meet Ron Moss and tour Moss Farms
  • Learn about how to hold more water and carbon in the soil
  • Learn indicators of good soil health, how to estimate forage and increase forage diversity
  • Learn about Holistic Management Planned Grazing and other regenerative practices
  • Enjoy a delicious lunch
  • Connect with folks from this area who are also interested in regenerative practices
  • Practice testing decisions toward a holistic goal
  • Hear how Holistic Management enables producers to better manage risk, make better decisions and enjoy the benefits of regenerative agriculture.
  • Be on land managed for optimum soil and animal health
