Holistic Management® Grazing Planning gets your animals to the right place at the right time and for the right reasons. It enables you to manage land, animals, and wildlife so that in the growing months the land can produce the maximum amount of high quality forage.

Objectives:

Complete a Grazing Chart (open-ended plan)
Complete a Grazing Chart (closed plan)
Learn how to calculate standard animal units, animal days per acre available, stocking rate, and stock density
Learn grazing, over grazing, growth rates, and recovery period Learn how to monitor and control the grazing plan


HM Biological Planning and Monitoring

Mob Grazing Seminar & Barbecue

Neil Dennis of Wawota, SASK, Canada

Neil is an experienced Saskatchewan mob grazier who loves to experiment and perfect methods of moving cattle. He is a highly sought after international speaker who relates very well with producers around the world. His humor and energy are contagious and entertaining. His Pasture Walk is guaranteed exciting and fun!

Abe Collins of St. Albans, VT, USA

Abe, a seasonal grass dairyman from Vermont is also founder of Carbon Farmers of America. Abe is an internationally sought out speaker. He is very energetic, knowledgeable, and challenging.   He believes organic matter can be formed rapidly and he will tell us how. He believes grazing grass tall is best, using herd effect and the yeomen plow. Be prepared to learn that farming and ranching are the most important occupations on earth.

Kirk Gadzia of Bernalillo, NM, USA

Kirk is the founder of Resource Management Services, LLC which is a New Mexico based consulting, training, and monitoring organization committed to assisting private and professional resource managers achieve sustainable results.   Kirk is also a Certified Educator with the HMI Center. He has over 20 years experience teaching the concepts of Holistic Management® worldwide. Combined with his extensive international consulting work on many agricultural operations, one will find    Kirk has a very practical and positive approach to help move people toward what they want.

Terry Gompert of Center, NE, USA

Terry Gompert is an UNL Extension Educator with a focus in grazing education. He is also a cow/calf producer who loves low-cost techniques and a functional cow. He is a Holistic Management® Certified Educator — teaching its principles around the Americas. He likes to think of himself as an “orchestrator” of holistic management and grazing education. His to-the-point, energetic presentation will make the event enjoyable. His advice will be challenging, yet doable.
