Manitoba Association of Ag Societies Conference

January 7, 2012

The conference this year will focus on recruiting and retaining volunteers; the power of social media to build awareness and raise money, Social Media to promote your cause; Virtual volunteering, and blogging to promote your cause.

At noon, January 7th, Lawrence Scanlan, author of “A Year of Living Generously” will fascinate us with his story of volunteering for one year across the world. He uncovers unexpected stories and confronts some uncomfortable truths about the nature of personal engagement and the societal divide. He will discuss how keeping volunteers engaged and on the job is very much in the same league as keeping staff engaged and happy to come to work.

If you wish to only attend the luncheon the cost is $25.00, however, we encourage you to set the day aside to participate. Friday evening is a networking affair and quilt competition hosted by A & B Fairs and is an opportunity for you to meet new people, participate in the fun, and view the winning quilts submitted from quilters across the province.

We look forward to seeing you in January. For further information please don’t hesitate to contact me at 726-6195 or: liz.roberts@gov.mb.ca
