Manitoba Beef & Forage Initiatives

MBFI is a not for profit organization, developed through a partnership between Manitoba Forage and Grassland Association (MFGA), Manitoba Agriculture, Manitoba Beef Producers (MBP), and Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC) with direction from stakeholders collaborating for the advancement of the industry.

MBFI’s Mission

MBFI is a centre of agricultural innovation engaging in science-based research to benefit valuable ecosystems, improve producer profitability and build social awareness around the beef and forage industry.

MBFI’s Goal

Supporting the development of a community of stakeholders that includes producers, scientists, extension providers, non-government organisations, policymakers, and the public, collaborating for the advancement of the industry and filling gaps in the support network for Manitoba's forage and beef sectors.

MBFI is located north of Brandon, MB on Hwy 10 and was selected for the research-history and capacity of the MBFI Brookdale Farm (located on the site formerly occupied by the Zero-Till Management Research Farm).
