Riding Mountain Biosphere Reserve General Meeting

If you are not familiar with Permaculture or are interested in learning more about this relatively new field and its sustainable gardening/farming techniques, we invite you to join us at the next general meeting of the Riding Mountain Biosphere Reserve.

The meeting will be held in the shelter at the beautiful Mount Agassiz Day-use Site (former Agassiz Ski Hill site), in Riding Mountain National Park (map below), on July 25, 1-3 pm .

The meeting will feature a presentation by Tim Engbrecht and Slade Doyle of Parkland Permaculture on Permaculture and the activities of their group - activities that range from landscape planning to coordinated seed saving and their distributed seed bank, nursery stock and fruit-tree twigs for grafting to composting and vermiculture to wholesale ordering of a variety of plants, including trees.

You are welcome to come early and bring your picnic lunch to the site or if you prefer a restaurant to grab a bite, you can stop en route at the McCreary Golf and Country Club, which is on the same road to Agassiz and is just before entering the Park.

We hope you will join us for this exciting learning day. We would greatly appreciate it if you let us know if you will be attending by July 23rd, so we have adequate printed materials.
