MOA COVER CROP FARM TOURS
JULY 11 & 15, 2022

The Manitoba Organic Alliance is excited to be partnering with Farmers for Climate Solutions for the Farm Resilience Mentorship (FaRM) Program! We will be delivering the cover crop and nitrogen management streams in Manitoba. Whether you're conventional or organic, all farmers in the province who want to take part in these programs can sign up through us!

This summer we're offering two in-person trainings about growing cover crops which will take place at farm tours on July 11th and 15th. As a trainee, you'd be matched with a Farmer Mentor (either Karen Klassen or Scott Beaton) in a small group of around 10 other farmers. Along with attending the farm tour, you'll work your way through the cover crop curriculum online (designed by our friends as Canadian Organic Growers), meet and share ideas with the other farmers in your group, and receive one-on-one support from your Mentor. You'll also have opportunities to chat with other farmers from across the country who are implementing these BMPs!

Our online learning platform will be ready to go later in June so we'll be setting you up on there as soon as possible. Once you're set up with an account, you'll be able to start working your way through the online curriculum. You'll probably need 2-4 hours to get through this material but you can split it up and go through it at your own pace.
